2009 Sosin Educational Symposium

The Sosin Education Symposium and Annual Meeting held on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the Inn at St. John’s was a big success. Dr. Robert Levy, Neurologist from Ann Arbor, received the Sosin Award and LyondellBasell received the Corporate Citizen Award. Dr. Levy has many MG patients in his practice in Ann Arbor and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Dr. Levy also serves on the MGA Physician Advisory Committee. He supports the MGA Ann Arbor Support Group by sponsoring the use of a meeting room at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital. LyondellBasell Industries has provided financial support for the Golf Classic and Walk/Run. They have been very instrumental in helping MGA maintain a positive financial outcome in each of these events. Jane Horal, Segment Manager for LyondellBasell, serves on the MGA Board of Directors.

Dr. James W. Teener, Director of the Neuromuscular Program at the University of Michigan Health System, gave an excellent presentation on: "How to Manage YOUR Disease". Dr. Teener was thorough, very personable and provided great insight regarding the management of MG. He graciously answered the many questions that came forward from the audience. The program was video taped and is available in VHS and DVD formats.
